Advanced reservoir engineering is the key specialized course for the students majored in petroleum engineering. It is a research on the theory and method of reservoir engineering design in order to establish or perfect efficient development system for various types of complex oil and gas reservoirs. It is the concrete application of reservoir engineering foundation.
Advanced reservoir engineering mainly includes nine chapters, which are the geological basis and characteristics of oilfield development, basic theory of water flooding, water drive curve analysis, production decline curve analysis,steady-state productivity evaluation of oil wells, principle and application of well test analysis, field development plan—development well pattern design and adjustment, unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs, case analysis of complex reservoir development .
Through the study of this course, the students of petroleum engineering can learn to solve the practical problems in the reservoir engineering with the theory of advanced reservoir engineering, and combine the theoretical teaching with the field practice to train the students' ability to analyze the problems and solve the problems.
